  •    The delegation study trip to China is an important way to better understand this Asian powerhouse. Additional Frequently Asked Question's (FAQ's) about the trip and the country are provided below:

Question: When is our deposit due to secure a place in the delegation?
Answer: A deposit of $350 is due March 31, 2005. All payments will be sent to the California Cast Metals Association. September is a very busy month in Shanghai, as well as surrounding areas. In order to keep our overall costs low, we must quickly place a deposit on the trip.

Question: What is the cancellation policy?
Answer: Full payments except initial deposit will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing before May 1, 2005. An additional administration fee of $500 will also be charged. 75% of the payments, except the initial deposit of $350, will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing prior to July 1, 2005. 50% of the payments, except the initial deposit of $350, will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing prior to August 1, 2005. No refunds will be made if notice of cancellation is received after August 1, 2005.

Question: What is the minimum number of delegates needed for this trip?
Answer: The prices quoted are based on a minimum of 15 persons. Delegates will be contacted by the end of March 31, 2005, and given a full refund of their deposit if we do not reach this minimum. But overall, we expect to exceed this minimum.

Question: Can I schedule my own activities during the stay in China?
Answer: Delegates are expected to stay with the group during our Sept 16-24 agenda. Individual ventures can be done at your own expense from Sept 24-28. Please download the 4-page flier for more information.

Question: What foundries or foundry types will we be visiting?
Answer: The attendees will dictate the foundries we see in China. Once we have the group set up at the end of the month (March) we will survey the group and see as many foundries requested as we can. DragonVenture had some suggestions thus far as prospects in Ningbo and surrounding areas, but the actual visits are ultimately up to those who go.
