CCMA

The California Cast Metals Association (CCMA) was founded in 1972 and is the nation's largest and most active state trade association serving the metal casting industry. CCMA is a professional organization with individual members from foundries and die casters of all metal types, representing approximately 80% of the casting tonnage produced annually in California. CCMA also serves individual members from leading suppliers to our industry.

CCMA understands the importance of lobbying and government relations in California. CCMA established and currently supports the California Metals Coalition (CMC). CMC's lobbyists represent the interests of the metal working industry for local, regional, and state issues impacting our industry.

CCMA members manufacture metal castings. A casting can be described as a "metal object obtained by pouring molten metal into a mold and allowing that molten metal to solidify." The shape of the object is ultimately determined by the shape of the mold cavity. Mold cavities can be created from bonded sand, permanent molds, and other methods.

The metal products and components manufactured by CCMA members are items that we sometimes take for granted. Metal automobile components in your car, metal water pumps in your house and yard, metal aircraft parts on planes, metal defense items defending our nation, metal manhole covers and sewer grates, metal art pieces, and thousands of other metal products consumed in our everyday life.

CCMA provides many important services to the companies that manufacture metal castings in California. Please review the CCMA web site and do not hesitate to contact our office.

Sincerely,

James Simonelli
